Measuring the ROI of Organizational Development: A Step-by-Step Guide to Proving the Value of Organizational Development Projects

NOTE:  Our April bi-monthly is on Friday, April 24, 2015 -- two weeks later than our usual second Friday date to accommodate the speaker's schedule.

Program Description

In today's economic climate, the best way to gain support, influence, respect, and funds is to show the business impact of your OD project and sometimes even the financial ROI.  For programs that are very expensive, high profile, and strategic, calculating the financial ROI - along with other levels of data - creates a convincing profile of success, satisfying all of the stakeholders, including top executives and chief financial officers.

Almost any budget comes under scrutiny these days and the big question is, "what value does it deliver?"  This interactive workshop takes the mystery out of measuring OD projects with examples and case studies.

After attending the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the drivers for ROI in OD projects
  • Identify the five levels of outcome evaluation
  • Address issues of project data collection, isolating the effects of the project, and converting data to money
  • Align an OD project to business measures
  • Use the ROI data to optimize the value of an OD project

Participants attending this interactive workshop are encouraged to bring an OD project to plan to evaluate its success.

Materials:

Each participants will receive:

  • A 50 page workbook which includes, tools, resources, and case studies
  • Measuring the Success of Organizational Development: A Step-by-Step Guide for Measuring Impact and Calculating ROI by Patricia Pulliam Phillips, Jack J. Phillips, and Lizette Zuniga (ATD 2014).
  • Two job aids
